 Review guide:

1.You MUST know English meaning and stroke order of ALL 30 radicals (variant form included)
2.You MUST know ALL the English meaning of word examples.
3.You will be provided with a word bank and will be asked to put characters under the radical
4.You must know how to write in Chinese characters: 1. Answering question about name.  2. Saying one is hungry or thirsty (characters you need to write你, 我, 他, 她, 叫, 很*,渴,饿)
5. Make flashcards for underlined radicals. You must know how to write these radicals for the test.

*hěn, literally means “very”.  Howeverit is a minimal modifier, the intensity is very week when followed by
adjective. Use to translate English “be” verbs is/am/are when followed by an adjective and use when followed by a noun.  Ex: “I am hungry” à 饿 I am a teacher à   

*David Beckham's tattooed line "生死有命, 富贵在天” (shēng sǐ yǒu mìng, fù guì zài tiān) , meaning "Death and life have their determined appointment; riches and honors depend upon Heaven" is a line in Analects or Lunyu (论语)
